Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (2024)

A lot of people might not have much experience with Elden Ring’s healing Incantations, instead relying solely on their Flask of Crimson Tears to restore their HP. But there are plenty of cases where they can benefit your build, no matter how much you choose to invest in Faith.

If you plan on wielding sorceries, then you'll need the best staff possible. These make any Elden Ring magic build more powerful.

The options fall into one of two categories; one group gives you a massive burst of HP on the spot, while the other will steadily restore your HP over time. Of course, as with all Incantations, some of them are more effective than others, so let’s check out which of them you should be filling your memory slots with.

8 Urgent Heal

Amount Healed

1.15 x Faith Incantation Scaling

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (3)Urgent Heal is unique among the healing Incantations, and many of the differences don’t work in its favor. For starters, although you can move while casting it to a limited extent, anyone who has panic-drunk a Flask while trying to dodge a boss knows how little help that can be. It might help if the actual casting time were significantly faster than the stationary heals, but unfortunately, that isn't the case.

Urgent Heal is also one of just two Incantations on this list that doesn’t damage Revenants (and the other has advantages that push it significantly higher). The only saving grace is that, at just eight Faith, it can be cast by all of the starting classes except for the two Intelligence-based ones, though in most cases you may as well not bother. If you want to test the Incantation's weaknesses for yourself, Confessors will start with it equipped, and any class can buy it from Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold.

7 Lord’s Heal

FP Cost

55

Amount Healed

4.2 (half for allies) x Faith Incantation Scaling

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (5)Lord's Heal is technically an upgrade over Great Heal in that it will provide you with more HP when cast. However, the jump is disappointingly small when compared to the improvements you get when going between the other instant heals. In general, you’re probably better off sticking with Great Heal if you are trying to save FP, and going with the massively powerful Erdtree Heal if you really need to go all out.

If you do want to have Lord’s Heal in your arsenal, you have to give the Two Fingers' Prayerbook to Prophet Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows, then buy the Incantation from them. The Prayerbook can be found in the Fortified Manor (the alternate version of the Roundtable Hold) in Leyndell, Royal Capital, though if you defeat Maliketh and bury the Capital in ashes, you’ll have missed your chance.

6 Heal

Amount Healed

2.3 (half for allies) x Faith Incantation Scaling

The basic Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (7)Heal is hardly the most dramatic or impressive Incantation in the Lands Between, but it’s not without its uses. It’s the first option you get access to that allows you to heal both yourself and your allies, and also the lowest-cost option for dealing burst damage to Revenants, which definitely is something.

It does get outpaced relatively quickly by other options on this list, but that is to be expected of what is a starting Incantation. Prophets get access to it right out of character creation, and it’s easy enough for other classes to acquire, as Brother Corhyn sells it for just 1,500 Runes.

5 Blessing’s Boon

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (9)

Type

Over Time

Faith Required

24

FP Cost

30

Amount Healed

8 HP per second for 90 seconds

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (10)Blessing's Boon is the awkward middle child of the non-instant healing Incantations. It lacks the raw efficiency of Bestial Vitality while also being unable to match Blessing of the Erdtree’s overall power. However, it has substantially lower requirements than its big brother, and unlike Bestial Vitality, can be used both to heal your allies and damage Revenants.

Blessing’s Boon also has the advantage of being available right from the start of the game if you really want to get your hands on it. Miriel, Pastor of Vows sells it from the moment you meet him at the Church of Vows.

4 Great Heal

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (11)

Type

Instant

Faith Required

15

FP Cost

45

Amount Healed

3.64 (2.07 for allies) x Faith Incantation Scaling

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (12)Great Heal is significantly better than the regular Heal Incantation if you meet the requirements for it. And as was mentioned earlier on this list, Lord’s Heal isn’t as much of an upgrade as you probably want. That means Great Heal is going to be the best instant-heal option for players that can’t afford to cast the extremely expensive Erdtree Heal.

You can pick it up after progressing through the game until you have access to the Altus Plateau. Brother Corhyn sells it after moving there (you need to talk to him to trigger this stage of his questline; otherwise he’ll just stay at the Roundtable Hold forever).

3 Bestial Vitality

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (13)

Type

Over Time

Faith Required

12

FP Cost

18

Amount Healed

5 HP per second for 120 seconds

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (14)Bestial Vitality provides you with a dirt-cheap way to heal over time. It has significantly lower requirements in terms of both FP and levels compared to Blessing’s Boon and Blessing of the Erdtree, and like them, its power doesn’t scale off of Faith. And because it lasts so long, it is actually the most FP-efficient of the bunch.

Elden Ring: The 16 Best Sorceries In The Game

If you want to cast the most powerful sorceries in Elden Ring, you can't go wrong with these spells.

As a result, you can get great results even with minimal investments in Faith, or none at all if you use Talismans or Great Runes for a temporary boost. You do need to put at least a little effort into acquiring the Incantation, though, as it’s the reward for giving Gurranq three Deathroot. And while you won’t get far into the game before those three become available, you also can’t just buy the Incantation from a merchant or find it lying around somewhere.

2 Erdtree Heal

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (16)

Type

Instant

Faith Required

42

FP Cost

65

Amount Healed

5.9 (4.2 for allies) x Faith Incantation Scaling

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (17)Erdtree Heal is the tactical nuke of healing spells. If all you want is to heal every ally in your vicinity by a massive amount and don’t care what it costs you, then it’s what you’re looking for. Sure, you’ll need an FP bar that stretches across the top of your screen and 38 levels in Faith to use it, but it's worth the cost.

As you might expect for a spell that really only becomes good at higher levels, you can’t access Erdtree Heal until you’ve beaten most of the game. You’ll need to beat Maliketh and turn Leyndell into the Ashen Capital, then head back to the Queen’s Bedchamber where it will be in the same spot Blessing of the Erdtree once sat.

1 Blessing Of The Erdtree

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (18)

Type

Over Time

Faith Required

38

FP Cost

60

Amount Healed

12 HP per second for 90 seconds

Elden Ring: Every Healing Incantation, Ranked (19)Blessing of the Erdtree is your top-level Incantation for healing yourself over time. While it’s active, you'll be able to heal through just about anything that doesn't kill you on the spot. And yeah, that level of quality comes at a premium cost, but you aren’t going to find better results anywhere in the Lands Between if you can afford to pay it.

It also might be the hardest Incantation to miss in the entire game. You can find it on the bed in Marika’s Bedchambers in Leyndell, Royal Capital, which every Tarnished will pass through on their way to fighting Morgott. That said, if you do decide not to pick it up, the Incantation will disappear once you kill Maliketh and cover Leyndell in ash.
