McNeill has worked with FOX 8 for over 3 decades. He is doing exactly what he has always wanted to do and where he has wanted to do it.
Since joining FOX 8 WGHP, he has worn many hats. From the year 1983 to the year 1985, he served as a general assignment reporter. From 1985 to 1986 as an anchor of the morning/noon newscasts. In the subsequent year, he served as a co-anchor of the weekend newscasts. From 1988 to 1995, he served as co-anchor of the 11:00 pm newscasts. McNeill began working as one of the original co-anchors of the 5:00 pm newscast in the year 1990 and co-anchor of the 6:00 pm newscast in the year 2001. He became one of the original co-anchors of the 6:30 pm newscast in February of 2014. McNeill has also worked as a Wednesday’s Child reporter and a consumer reporter on FOX 8. As a Wednesday’s Child reporter, he profiled area foster children in need of adoption. Additionally, McNeill has served as an executive producer of special projects.
Throughout his career, he has won several awards and honors for his work as a reporter and co-anchor. He holds several regional Emmy Awards for best newscast and breaking news. McNeill serves in the community by volunteering for several local charities. He has also been an advisory board member of several local charity organizations. He has co-hosted the FOX 8 Holiday Concert Series with the Greensboro and Winston-Salem Symphonies.
