How does UPS Access Point locker work? ›

UPS handles delivery from supplier to elected UPS Access Point. Provide proof of identity to collect your parcel. Notification sent and your parcel awaits to be collected at a time convenient to you.

To retrieve your packages, just enter the access code or scan your QR code at the locker screen in your select store and grab your items, anytime! Safe, easy, convenient.

A UPS Access Point® is a local business that acts as a secure pickup and drop-off location for UPS packages. These UPS-affiliated businesses include grocery stores, gas stations, and other retailers. The location itself is a touchscreen kiosk inside the business accompanied by a stand of secure lockers.

Transit times

This is a 1-2 day service. Most parcels take just 1 working day to be delivered. Each UPS Access Point™ has a daily collection from UPS (excluding weekends). The collection time for each UPS Access Point™ can be found here.

When UPS delivers to a locker, it means that the package has been delivered to a secure locker that is accessible to the recipient with a unique code or key. This is a convenient option for those who may not be available to receive a package in person or who want to avoid the risk of package theft.

The system assigns a locker to the package, generates an access code or QR code for that locker, and automatically sends a notification to the apartment resident. The resident uses the code to access the locker. Once the package is retrieved, the door automatically shuts.

The local post office determines how long a package can stay in a USPS parcel locker. Generally, they will keep it there for up to 10 days before returning it to the sender. International packages may be kept in parcel delivery lockers for up to 15 days.

If you normally get your mail in one of those big boxes that's divided into many smaller boxes for your neighborhood, the carriers don't normally deliver anything that won't fit into your box to your front door. They put your parcel into one of the large "parcel lockers" and leave the key in your small box.

How accurate is UPS's estimated delivery time? ›

UPS estimated delivery times are generally very accurate, with a success rate of over 98%. However, there are occasionally unforeseen circumstances that can cause delays, such as severe weather or unexpected customs issues.

Note: UPS drop-off only locations and USPS drop boxes can't scan a QR code. You'll need to bring it to your nearest UPS Store or USPS Post Office.

To pick up the package, you can simply enter the provided code at the locker's touchscreen interface, or scan the barcode included in the delivery confirmation email, if there is one. This action prompts the corresponding locker door to open, allowing you to collect your package.

It's easy to use a Locker. At the terminal, scan the barcode on your shipping label or manually enter the 16-digit number. A door will automatically open. Place your parcel in the compartment, close the door and we'll do the rest!

Can you hold my packages while I'm away? Yes, if you're a UPS My Choice member, The UPS Store and other UPS Access Point locations can hold your package for up to seven calendar days at no additional charge. UPS Customer Centres can hold your package for up to five business days.

Lots of retailers offer parcel Locker collection – just select it as a delivery option when you check out. When your parcel arrives, you can collect it at any time over the next 3 days. We'll send you a code to enter at the Locker, which will unlock the door to your parcel – it's that simple!

The parcel locker is used for items that are too large to fit in an individual box (compartment) within the Cluster Box. A key will be left in the mailbox to be used as a parcel locker key. This key has a tag that indicates the parcel locker that contains the item.
